God’s king acts differently from our leaders

Psalm 72: (via biblegateway.com, NIV)

12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.

13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.

14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.

  1. That’s powerful, and yet looking in our broken world I find my faith in believing this to be the truth tested…

  2. I think it’s rarely seen. I think that it may still be possible, but there’s probably little votes in it. Maybe we’d rather have leaders that want power, dominance through military might, and self preservation.

You’re right, to believe it can happen is hard, but on the other hand, Jesus lived this way, and to look at these verses shows us more of the character of God. And the heart of God.

  3. True.

If only Jesus could come back sooner rather than later. Sigh.
