Q - Disciples

Rick McKinley said this at Q:

We need deeply transformed disciples. Stop talking about church and start
talking about a movement. Who has been so transformed by the gospel that we can
start working on crazy dreams with them. Don’t want a church of undiscipled
disciples. Doesn’t transform culture, creates parking problems. Jesus didn’t say
I need 30,000 people before I get going, or I need critical mass.

Jesus said I’ll die for you, copy what I do.

If you have those disciples, then can explode. Don’t need to ask
permission, don’t need programmes. How to do this - read the gospels, get your
bible open and read it in the middle of your city - smell the city, listen to
the city and watch the city, and say how does this apply here. Walk in the dust
of your rabbi Jesus.

Thanks to Drew for reminding me to re-read this post. (I never quite wrote it up in the way he said it, maybe I’ll get back there someday…). Kent blogged it as well but his notes are better!

The chat is that Q is in NYC next year………
