Everest seems to be a real passion for some, and at the expense of risking (and sometimes) losing life. This gentleman lost both his legs but decided he’d like to climb Everest one day. It has resulted in him having frostbite and probably about to lose some fingers. He was part of the party that [...]

Thomas Friedman has done it again with the world is flat - I’m about 3 pages into this book and am loving it already. Should be a good read for the plane. I didn’t read anything else he has written but it all had good reviews I believe. So buy the book!

Some bloke is going to miss some of England’s games. Mind you, the B teams didn’t do too well last night (ha ha) against the might of Belarus. Sorry to hear about Robert Green, how gutting to get so close to the world cup and then to be ruled out. I really can’t see England [...]

In the meantime, the world has carried on at a manic pace - the army decided that the snow conditions were not going to get any better and so they abandoned the attempt to climb Everest. Incredible decision to make, after being so close and after 3 years of work. Good call - probably - [...]

The aim is that when someone searches for Egypt they will end up at the Free Alaa website. This will raise awareness and bring pressure to [...]

Just finished watching (for the 2nd time) Tears of the Sun, a Bruce Willis film. This is a terrible movie - do not waste your time on it. I only watched it two times so I could be sure it was rubbish and get rid of it.
However, it’s set in Africa (Nigeria) and just reminds [...]

So much fordemocracy in the Middle East then. Between detentions in Syria and bloggers being locked up in Egypt, it seems as if hopes of democracy spreading are not quite the reality on the ground.

I really didn’t want to blog about this. It’s become a major talking point though so here is my (optimistically increasing the value of his comments) half-penny’s worth. (p.s. do you remember the half penny? you used to be able to buy a half penny sweet with it, how cool was that. And that was [...]
